What was your Christmas lunch?
More like a CHRISTMAS SMORGASBORD OF EPIC, DELICIOUS, AND EPICALLY DELICIOUS PROPORTIONS. ♥ Tons of different chips, pretzels, crackers, pigs in a blanket, mozzarella sticks, shrimp, cookies, etc. It's for this reason that we never eat Christmas dinner on Christmas anymore, because we're always WAAAY too full from eating so many snacks. How many one-night stands?
Never had any.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
I think the award goes to The Big Bang Theory this year. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Hmmm...maybe Murphy's Kids. I just saw them play on the 27th right before Patent Pending went on, and they were AWESOME. *much love to their singer and their sax player* I'm so bummed that they had to leave before I could buy their CD. :( Maybe I'll see them again someday~

28. What did you want and get?
LOTS of things~

29. What did you want and not get?
Patent Pending group photo. XD

30. Who did you miss?
Several people

38. Who was the best new person you met?
They're all awesome. :D

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
Keep your close friends and family, because they're all you've got

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
~I know there's good left in this world, I'll find it all before it ends~

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

I hope everyone had a good Christmas this year! :D I was expecting mine to be a little lackluster this year for some unknown reason, but it ended up being better than I thought. :)

As I usually do, here's the recap of the things I got as gifts:

Video Games

- Kirby Super Star Ultra
- The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
- The Legendary Starfy
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

DVDs

- UP!
- How I Met Your Mother (Season 4)
- Psych (Season 3)
- The Big Bang Theory (Season 2)
- Dodgeball

Other

- Money/checks/gift cards
- Food/candy
- 2 scratch-off lotto tickets
- A metal Slinky Jr.
- A Sudoku book
- An Aussie hair de-frizzer tube thing
- 2 balloon craft kits
- A 2010 calendar of The Office
- A second Shinx plushie (which you can view here)
- A New Super Mario Bros. t-shirt (which you can buy/view here)
- A poster of the U.S. with the liscense plates of all 50 states (which you can buy/view here)

Since there's some stories behind a couple of these gifts, I'll explain those here:

Shinx Plushie - So, awhile ago (probably a year or more by now I guess), I was at Toys R Us or Target (I forget which store) browsing through the Pokémon toys, and I found a Shinx plushie. I adore Shinx, and just HAD to buy it. It's so freaking cute. ♥ I must've just gotten REALLY lucky, because I've never seen that plushie for sale ever since then, and probably for 2 good reasons: 1)it's probably one of the most popular 4th gen Pokémon from what I've noticed online & 2)compared to a majority of the Pokémon plushies that Jakks Pacific have made, this one is very well made. Anyways, after I buy new Pokémon plushies, I normally put them on one of the shelves on my nightstand, but I ended up choosing to sit the little guy on top of my computer monitor, and it's been there ever since. When I started college, my parents took notice of the fact that the plushie looks like it's guarding my computer until I get home on the weekends. XD So apparently, they decided I should have another "protector" for my laptop in my dorm room. So now I'm the proud owner of 2 Shinx plushies. :)

Liscense Plate Poster - One time when my dad and I were out shopping, we stopped at Michael's (I don't remember why), and we were browsing through all of the posters they had like we normally end up doing whenever we've gone there. While looking, I stumbled upon this poster and thought it looked AWESOME. I called my dad over, and he thought it looked great too. I wanted to get it, but then we flipped it over and saw the price and knew that it was way too pricey for a poster, so we put it back. I think I've only mentioned that poster in a conversation once since we saw it, and I never expected to get it. So, needless to say, I was surprised when I unrolled the poster from the tube this morning. It's an extremely high quality print, and the paper is also high quality, so I'd say it's well worth the money. We're planning on hanging it up when I go back to my dorm in a few weeks.

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

Tablets are fun~

Sooo, I don't know if I ever mentioned this or not, but last year in my Graphic Design/Digital Art 2 class we got to mess around with some old tablets that came with mice and pens. I only used it for coloring in my drawings in Photoshop when we were doing our calendar project, so I never actually attempted to draw anything.

However, when my parents bought me my laptop for college, Dell gave us a giftcard (I think it was $50 or $100, but I don't remember) to use on anything on their site. Our original plan was to use it to buy an extra charger, and then maybe spend the rest on other random things. But then it occurred to me that I should try to look for a tablet, and they had several that varied in price. We ended up getting one that used up all of the money on the gift card, so we decided to get the extra charger off Amazon.com some other time.

Anyways, to get to the point, I got this tablet a couple months ago, and I only got the chance to install it tonight. And I must say, I love it lots. ♥ I doodled a couple things with it in Photoshop, and I'm still in the mood to draw. XD This rarely EVER happens anymore, so I think that says a lot about how awesome this thing is. It's too bad that I can't draw everything that I want to draw though, because then I'd totally draw some of the 50,000 things that I've been wanting to draw for the longest time. Maybe I'll go work on a gift that I've been meaning to work on for several months... I still feel bad about it not getting finished when it was supposed to be. But better late than never I guess.

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

P.S. No, I don't normally sign my name like that. I've just always wanted an interesting looking signature, so I was messing around until I came up with that.

So, I'm done with my first semester of college. YESSSSS!!! Now it's time for me to fucking chill out for a change. Looks like I'll FINALLY have time to catch up with my most favorite fandoms. :D I've been missing out on Psych since like...August. XD;

Speaking of Psych, I won their Twitter contest! :D

<a href="http://twitpic.com/u2xnp" title="@Psych_USA I love the last sentence! XD

Other things I'm currently excited about:

-Patent Pending show(s)! I'm definitely going on the 27th, and I just MIGHT be going again on the 28th. I won't know for sure until the friend who's driving there knows if she has to work that day or not. Plus I still need to ask my parents about that one since it's in Long Island. I'm saving this show as a surprise for the friend that I always go to these shows with since she paid for my ticket as a birthday present when we saw them in January. But in this case, the gift is like 5 months belated. XD;

-Taco bell for dinner! XD (I haven't eaten Taco Bell in quite some time, so I am pretty happy about it. :D)

-THE SPEED GAMERS POKEMON MARATHON!!! If you didn't watch this marathon at all last year, you SO should do it this year. The commentators are hilarious! <s>I'm going to embed the show here for your amusement, as well as my own:</s> The marathon is over.

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

EDIT: For anybody that doesn't know about what The Speed Gamers do, here's a post from their site about the marathon.

Sooooo... It's been what? 3 weeks now? I can never seem to keep track of time on here anymore. College eats up too much of my free time, I swear. T_T

I'm backed up with episodes of Psych that I need to watch, which would be ALL OF SEASON 4 SO FAR UGHHHHH. I did watch 4x01 and some of 4x02, but I need to rewatch them since I was distracted by many things while I did. I'm also backed up on concert posts, which I keep constantly mentioning here. But they'll all get written someday I guess...

New Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother tonight! :D Fat Barney = EWWWWW though. Seriously writers. Why ruin a perfect thing? Even if it IS probably only for 1 episode? NPH IS GODLY AND DESERVES MORE RESPECT THAN THAT.

Professor Layton is still made of awesome. I played through Curious Village and I'm almost done with Diabolical Box (minus the weekly Wi-Fi Puzzles since those won't be ending for another few months or so). Once I'm finished with that, I have 3 options:

1. Go back to playing Scribblenauts
2. Go back to playing PMD2: EoS
3. Go back to replaying Hotel Dusk

I'm thinking that I'll do it in the order of 1, 3, 2 since PMD is extremely long, so I'd rather save that for last. :)

And...I guess that's it for this post.

OH WAIT! I lied. I wanted to mention how much I love the end theme for Prof. Layton 2, which is Iris. It sounds so pretty with and without lyrics~ ♥

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

I really need to start posting more often. It's been close to a month this time. @_@

First off, Jen (mizunosakura) and I totally got to hang out at the Nintendo World Store 2 Sundays ago when the store was having its pre-release event for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. So much fun~ I'll edit this post/write up a separate post about that some other time though since it's getting a bit late, and I want to play some more of Professor Layton 2 before I go to bed.

Anyways, I realized last week that every weekend until after November 7th, I will be riding the train to NYC.

October 11th: PMD pre-release event
October 18th: Trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with 2 of my friends
October 25th: Trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for my Drawing I class
October 31st: Patent Pending's 1st Annual Pop-Punk Skalloween (technically it's in LI and not in NYC, but we'll be passing through there to take the LIRR, so...)
November 7th: Trip to the Guggenheim Museum for my 2-D Design class

So yeah, that's a lot of train time as you can see. XD But it's cool since I have fun going there. :)

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

I think it's about time for me to write something new here, yes? :)

Yesterday was another Patent Pending show. Pull the Pin was there too, which made it super fun. :D Now I've got 4 concert posts I need to write up...although I guess technically it's only like 3 1/2 posts since I started writing the first one back in May, but didn't get around to adding in the pictures and videos. Still a lot though, so... XD;

Now I'm just waiting for The Big Bang Theory to start in like 15 minutes or so. I ended up missing How I Met Your Mother because of an issue with my printer, which caused me to have to use one of the school's computer labs. But now I think I may have fixed it, so hopefully I won't have to worry about that problem anymore.

Anyways, after I watch TBBT, I've gotta work on some English stuff for Wednesday since I have like 0 time to do anything on Tuesdays due to my 2 art labs. So annoying. >_< I hope I'm never forced to have such a crappy schedule like this again. 2 of my 3 labs only had 1 timeslot left, so I was forced to take those then. And the other one I had a choice of Tuesday or Thursday I believe, but it doesn't matter because I still would've had a day where I had 2 labs, so there was no getting around it. :(

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

I feel so bleh lately. Stupid college crap eats up my free time. I was hoping to be able to hang out at my friend's house and go to Gamestop to see if they had the first Professor Layton game, but I didn't get to do either of those things. :( Instead, on Saturday there was a 50th birthday party for one of my dad's college friends. I didn't have to go, but I decided to be nice and go anyway. The buffet was okay-ish, and some of the other college friends were there, so they had amusing stories to share. But it was annoying how we didn't get home till 12 AM.

Then yesterday, we were out most of the day just shopping around for all of the art supplies that I needed for my 3 different art classes. We got most of the stuff, but there are a few other things that we need to order or something. I wanted to just collapse yesterday, and I'm sure my parents did too. I've never had to buy so many different kinds of paper in my life. @_@ And I wish this stuff could've been a lot cheaper. I think it's ridiculous how we spent over $300 for everything we got so far. Seriously, what the hell? I'm probably not even going to be using a majority of these materials ever again, simply because I'm doing GRAPHIC DESIGN. That means COMPUTERS people! The only traditional materials I need for that are a sketchbook and pencils/pens/markers for drawing stuff to be scanned in, and maybe some glue/rubber cement for pasting prints onto paper or something.

So yeah, I'm kinda ticked off about all of the time we wasted buying all of this stuff. Maybe that's the reason why I'm still procrastinating on the assignments for one of my 2 art classes that's due tomorrow. Or maybe it's because I feel so sleepy right now, and my brain just doesn't want to try to function enough to be productive.

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

Wow, it's been almost 2 weeks since I posted something here. I've got a few bits and pieces to share, so why not?

- I just bought Wii Sports Resort at BestBuy on Sunday, and OH MAN. So, so, SOOO very addicting. I'm a beast at the third swordfighting game (don't remember what it's called at the moment), and I'm really digging the frisbee golf. :)

- Patent Pending boat show was effing AMAZING. ♥ Now that's one more show that I have to make a proper post for on here for myself. Why do I always fall behind on things so quickly? XD;

- Psych has started to air it's 4th season! ...but unless if I'm just a bad fan, I haven't had a reason to literally LOL while watching a new episode. Occasionally I chuckle, but that's it. :( AM I BROKEN OR SOMETHING??? Because when I read what other fans say about it, it all DOES sound hilarious, really! Hopefully this weirdness on my part will go away before the new ep. this week. THEY'RE GOING TO BE IN COWBOY OUTFITS. WHAT'S NOT TO LAUGH ABOUT?

- One of my two guinea pigs, Ginger, passed away sometime between 11:30PM - 2:00AM. However, compared to the death of my first guinea pig, I handled this extremely well. I didn't cry at all, which concerns me a little since I feel heartless for not doing so this time. ^^; But she lived to be 6 years and 2 months old, which is an especially long lifetime for a guinea pig since I've read that the max is around 7 years. So yeah, she lived a good, long life. :)

R.I.P. I feel so bad for her right now. :( He was her favorite member by far, and I know that she's taking this pretty hard.

At the very least, I'm hoping that maybe we'll get lucky and he'll be at the show we're going to next week...ON A BOAT! :O But yeah, this show is in NY too, so maybe he might go to hang out. But if the band is going to try to get the fans used to Michael not being there, that might not happen. Who knows?

But to end this on a less depressing note, the video clip of Joe and Michael as little kids dancing at the end of this video was really adorable. ♥ If anything, I think you guys should watch it just for that, because who doesn't get a smile on their face when watching children dance? :)

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

Somehow my Twitter account got hacked between last night and this morning, because I noticed a weird tweet appear that I didn't write. So I freaked out and deleted it. Then 3-4 hours later, a new one appeared. So I followed the directions on their Twitter Support site: I logged out, I cleared my browser cache, I logged in and changed my password.

Then I got an e-mail saying my account got suspended for a week "for cross-posting duplicate tweets across multiple accounts, a violation of our terms of service and the Twitter Rules that we take very seriously." I NEVER DID THIS!

So then I tried 2 routes to get help: a)I filled out a form to fight against my suspension, which resulted in automated e-mails that were of no help to me, and b)I e-mailed their suspension e-mail with my case and still got the same useless e-mails. In both cases, they said to reply to the automated e-mails if there was still a problem, so I did.

I'm REALLY hoping that nothing goes wrong and I get my account back. Seriously, that's 369 tweets that I just lost. :( This feels so much worse than when my Youtube account got deleted last summer, because there are so many fun memories in a good portion of those tweets, such as inside jokes and just random things that happened.

See ya.

~Melissa~

So, I've been on mega hyper Patent Pending spazz mode for the past couple of weeks since their CD release show in Long Island is tomorrow. SO PUMPED FOR THIS!!! :DDD

But yeah, today Joe spoiled us by posting another new song from their album, and I love it SO MUCH. ♥ I've been looking forward to hearing the song ever since he posted about it on his blog.

Later today, my friend and I are baking them cookies like we did for the last show that we went to in May (which I still haven't written about on here yet ^^;).

But yeah, I don't think that I've EVER been this excited for one of their shows.
...I just realized that a post I made the other day that I wanted to make private ended up being public. Ugh, I'm so stupid. It's not really embarrassing or anything since I could've cared less if any of you saw it, but it's just that I had no clue it was like that, and it was just personal reference for myself. Oh well. XD;

Anyways, this weekend was actually eventful for me for a change. My friend and I went to a party on Saturday, where we swam practically the whole time, and then the two of us came back to my neighbor's house to swim some more. XD Then the next day, I was planning on just working on the rough draft for my research paper, but instead my parents got me and my friend to agree on going with them to Point Pleasant. The two of us wandered pretty much everywhere on the boardwalk. We went to the aquarium, got on the carnival rides, played golf, etc. Then we tried to get the 4:26 train home to go swimming again, but we didn't make it to the platform in time and the train pulled away, so we had to wait for an hour (which went by surprisingly quick). Then we finally got to swim after getting really sunburnt. Then today I had to cram in the stupid paper. Hopefully I'll find enough sources for the final draft.

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

I beat MMSF3 today...thank God. I was getting tired of it towards the end. I was so pissed when I found out that you had to fight the final boss twice, because my health was at 220 when the second battle started. But unless if I got lucky, I guess the game gives you the battlecard (forgot the name of it, but it's the Black Ace one) that automatically kills it so it's not like you're actually fighting it again.

But yeah, the cutscenes of Daigo's memories were adorable. I WANT A CHILD!SUBARU OF MY OWN TO SQUISH AND LOVE FOREVER AND EVER.

And, with the way how it ended, I'm not sure if there's going to be an SF4 or not. I mean, the Official Complete Works book was already released a few months ago, and that book was released for EXE after the sixth game came out for that. And it seemed like a lot of loose ends were tied up in this game, so...

Anyways, since I beat it, I was able to finally edit the avatar and team/purpose for the Subaru/Luna Team that Jen made. It's only the two of us right now, which makes me sad. :( MORE PEOPLE NEED TO BEAT THE GAME AND BROTHER US TO JOIN AND SPREAD THE LOVE! If you have no clue what any of this means, just read the July 11th update on WSA. That should clear things up somewhat.

Speaking of Subaru/Luna, I need to do the Luna sidequest before I officially put this game back in the box and (hopefully) never have to touch it again (other than for the aforementioned S/L Team of course :3).

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

So, I'm in the last arc of MMSF3 now. I'm surprised by what happened at the end of the previous arc. Although I guess I shouldn't be since it was identical to the end of SF2 with Hollow and Orihime. But maybe I'm surprised since I liked the character, whereas with Hollow, I didn't really give a crap about him. But yeah, I'm keeping this all as vague as possible for anybody that might stumble upon this that hasn't gotten up to this point yet.

Anyways, I'm at the half way mark for my summer college class. Only 3 more classes to go~ I've got a crapload of work I need to get done for next class though. Hopefully I won't die because of it. Speaking of the class, we had a "safer sex workshop" (which translated to WEAR A CONDOM OR YOU'LL END UP LIKE THESE PEOPLE). It was pretty damn amusing to me, to say the least.

OH! And not that any of you care (I'm just posting this for my own purposes as always), but Patent Pending posted 2 of their new songs on their Myspace on Saturday. :D After hearing them play the songs live several times now, I was so excited to finally hear the studio versions of them. I'm SO looking forward to their CD release show on the 25th. My friend and I will get their new album for free AND it'll be our first out-of-state show for them. :D

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

MMSF3 is fun so far, and not tedious like some parts of MMSF2 were. MMSF3 has quite a few changes compared to SF1 and SF2, which sort of makes it stand out. It also brought back some elements from the MMBN series, such as cracked panels and other things that I'm failing to remember at the moment. People keep saying that this game is similar to MMBN3. If that's the case, then I'm rather pleased since MMBN3 was the first Megaman game I ever played, and it was the game that really got me into the game series.

Anyways, I just got up to the Alohaha chapter, and based on the Subaru/Luna hints list on WSA, it's the chapter with the most hints (and hopefully, the beach scene that I've been dying to see). So yeah, I'm pretty excited about it. :) Also, completely off topic, but Mode/Vogue is the most adorable wizard ever. :3 It's too bad that she's not a battle wizard like I initially thought she was going to be. I was really hoping that Capcom was finally giving Luna a way to fight with Rockman like Misora has been in all 3 games. Oh well. ^^;

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

EDIT: I JUST SAW THE BEACH SCENE!!! SO. EFFING. We're going shopping tomorrow, so I'm hoping that when we stop by at the mall, they'll have it. Hopefully it won't be too awkward for me in there.
So, I had my first college class today, and it was annoying. I can't wait for it to be over already. I have to do a research paper for one of the days, and there's an oral presentation using Powerpoint. I hate Powerpoints with a passion. They're so goddamn BORING. I haven't had to make one since the 8th grade (with the exception of a group project that I had in English this year, but someone else made the Powerpoint, so that doesn't really count). I'll probably do poorly with the presentation since I suck majorly at public speaking by failing to make eye contact and trying to rush through it.

Anyways, once I got home, I hung out with my friend, which was a good way to wind down the day. :) I like it when I can chill out and just not think about school. Yesterday there were a couple times that I actually forgot that I was having my first class today because I was in a good state of relaxation.

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

So, the past few days I've FINALLY been considering going back to playing MMSF2 before MMSF3 comes out at the end of the month, and I realized that today is the 1-year anniversary of the game's US release.

Seriously, what's wrong with me for putting it off for this long? XD; Chances are, I'm going to have to start over from the beginning to get used to the battle system again and to remember what the heck happened up until the point where I stopped playing. If I recall correctly though, I think the game allowed you to have 2 saves stored on it (one for each Tribe-On form), but I could be wrong about that.

Anyways, my graduation was nice. We were able to have it outdoors, which was good since it's been raining here a LOT lately, and everybody was worried when it was still cloudy that morning. It DID downpour after it was over though, so we got lucky I guess. :) My parents, grandparents, nextdoor neighbor, and one of my friends were there for it, and we all went out to eat at Chili's afterward. Then we came back home and I opened the cards I got and the present my parents got for me. It was a DSi, which I totally wasn't expecting at ALL. However, they got me a bundle kit from Costco (a.k.a. Price Club) and didn't realize that in place of the system, there was a card that said "Game system available at register" or something like that. I personally think that the store was stupid for not realizing they were supposed to give them the system, but my dad thinks that the package was upside down, so they didn't notice. Anyways, my mom went back there yesterday to see if they had the blue one like I wanted, but all they had were the black ones. So she got a refund and ordered the kit from their online store. My dad told me a little while ago that it says it shipped today, and he thinks it'll be here by Tuesday.

But yeah, back on topic. So after the cards/gifts, we had dessert. My grandma made pound cake, and we had some Friendly's ice cream to go with it. It was all so tasty~ :) Then my friend and I were up late just talking, and we ended up deciding to have a sleepover since there was really no point in her leaving by that point. Since my parents have been sleeping downstairs ever since my grandparents came, we had to sleep in my room. So I let her have my bed while I took the floor. Unlike most people, I find my floor comfortable, so it didn't bother me to do that. We kept on talking till I passed out at some point after 2:30. She stayed up at least an hour after that, and she didn't get up until 12PM. XD; However, my body decided to be a jerk and make me wake up at 7:30, so I had to find ways to keep myself busy until she was up. Once she was, we talked some more, then we went downstairs to eat and then played Wii Sports until it was time for her to leave at 3:30.

Anyways, the news about the new Rockman.EXE/Ryuusei no Rockman crossover game was pretty surprising. There's been a lot of speculation and love/hate going around in the fandom since it was announced earlier this week. I think it's good to see everybody being active again, but some of the arguements that some fans are having are pretty pointless. But yeah, for me personally, I'm not really sure what to think about it yet, other than that I'm excited that EXE is getting a comeback even though it was officially finished after Battle Network 6. I'm hoping that this game will be good, but I honestly don't know how it will end up. Please don't butcher this Capcom! It has the potential to be great, but only if done just right!

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~

P.S. I'd talk about Michael Jackson's death, but pretty much everybody on the internet has already done that job for me, so yeah... I will say that I was pretty shocked when I heard about it from my brother though.

So, we got our yearbooks at school yesterday, and they are so awesome~ ♥ I've gotten a decent amount of signatures this year, but I still need to get some from a few other people I want to sign it before I'm completely satisfied. Out of all the ones I got so far, probably the most hilarious one to me is the one that my Graphic Design/Digital Art teacher did since he drew a kick ass doodle of me. I want to take a picture of it at some point, so I might post it here later. :)

Anyways, when I was making my note card for my last Physics quiz this morning, I was flipping through the printed powerpoint and noticed something interesting. This section was about magnetism, and the SI Unit for magnetic fields is the Tesla (T), which I already knew since he went over that in class. However, it said that another unit that you can use for magnetic fields is the Gauss (G). Now, if you've played/watched/read Rockman.EXE, those two units should automatically make you think of Gauss Magnets and Tesla Magnets. Pretty cool how this series has real life references, ne? :)

See ya! ;)

~Melissa~
