I FINALLY DID IT! A REAL POST!

So I went through my most recent posts, and apparently I've been promising to write something real for a year...LITERALLY A YEAR. (I posted on June 9th, 2010, and it's June 11th, 2011 today. XD;) Needless to say, a real post has been WAY overdue.

Sooooo...what's changed from now since a year ago? Well, first of all is that I finished up my sophomore year of college. And compared to freshman year, this one was TONS better. My roommate is the shit (a much needed improvement in my life after my previous roommates last year), and my two suitemates are chill people. We're all dorming again this year, so that works. :) But my roommate might not be able to stay in our dorm after the fall semester due to money issues, so I'll be very sad about that if it happens. :(

I also managed to make a friend in one of my classes this year. "...one? Only ONE friend...?" you might ask? Well, I'm not the type of person who likes to have tons of casual friends. I like having a handful of close friends instead. Anyways, it kinda just happened by chance, but I'm glad it did. He's one of the nicest guys I've met in a long time, and I always had a blast whenever he and I hung out outside of class. :) Because of him, I finally got to do what I wanted to do when I skipped prom, which was staying up ridiculously late playing video games with a bunch of people. :P Until now, I've never had the chance to really experience multiplayer gaming at its best because it's always either been a)me and my brother (I dominate him, or he dominates me), or b)me and friends (where I whoop all their asses because they all only play games casually). So being in a room full of guys that take video games seriously was hilarious because of their reactions to winning or losing. The best reactions were definitely from Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl and Mario Kart: Double Dash though. "WHO THROWS RED SHELLS BACKWARDS?!" Hahahahaha. ♥ I'm seriously going to miss those nights this year, because as of now, my friend is pretty sure he's not going to be able to come back because he's also having money issues. And what sucks the most is that he lives in NY, so we can't even hang out or anything that easily. :'( I've been missing him like WOAH ever since school ended last month because we got pretty close and saw each other pretty much every day by the end of the school year. As of now, he and I are going to meet up at Six Flags at some point this summer (most likely in a couple weeks or so), so I've been really looking forward to that. :D But after that...I don't know how things are going to work out. And I really hate thinking about it. T_T

Now I'm going to dump the rest of what's been going on under LJ-cuts because this post is getting very long:

Moving on, let's talk about TV fandoms! No different than a year ago, I'm behind on most of them as usual. XD; I've had random times where I started to catch up, but then I'd fall behind again once schoolwork/real life got in the way. Psych, Burn Notice, and The Office are the main ones. Fortunately for Psych, I'm only behind on like 3 or 4 episodes. But for Burn Notice and The Office, I'm SEASONS behind. So I'm going to try my hardest to get caught up with them soon. I've managed to stay up to date with How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory though, which is good. :) And once the fall lineup starts, I'll be sure to keep up with Community as well, which has become my latest TV addiction. It's an AMAZING show that everyone should watch. I just watched both seasons 1 & 2 over the past week or two, and just...oh man. So good. Now I understand why it was so difficult for people to choose between Troy and Abed over at f_march_madness this year. They're both some of the best characters on TV right now. ♥ Another show that I've fallen in love with is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I also hope to get caught up with this show too, so if I'm lucky I'll be ready when it starts up again. And then other shows that I've been meaning to watch are Parks and Recreation (I watched season 1 on Hulu and loved it, but haven't had a chance to watch it ever since then, and I think it just ended season 3 if I'm not mistaken), 30 Rock (I tried watching it once and didn't get it, but snacksonsnacks talked about it in high school, so I've been meaning to give it another chance), Modern Family (I've seen commercials and random LJ icons that lead me to believe that it's hilarious), and White Collar (it looks interesting, and the one lead actor that they always use in the promos is HOT, not gonna lie [even though he doesn't fit my type at all XP]). And there's some other random shows like House M.D. and Scrubs that are on my next-to-watch list, but I'm SO far behind on House, and Scrubs is over, so I'm not in a rush to catch up on those.

Next, video games! I've mentioned some here and there on LJ, but I've mainly only mentioned them on Twitter. As expected, Pokémon Black & White were the big thing for me this year (which I already fangasmed about in a different post), but I'd also like to give a shout out to Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. That game came out in January, and it is a FANTASTIC game. I never wanted to put it down while I was playing it. Unfortunately, it's only achieved a sort of cult-status, which is upsetting because it deserves to be played. I'm surprised that most Ace Attorney fans skipped over it, considering it was made by the same creator. The story and characters are fabulous, and the puzzles really challenge you to think. I urge everyone reading this to give it a try because it needs more love. For 2010 games, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Donkey Kong Country Returns have been my favorites. Still working on both games, so I can't wait to finish them up. I've also got Kirby's Epic Yarn, which I haven't played yet, but it looks really good. :) 2010 also gave us Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, which had one of the best stories in the PL series. And of course there was Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver (which I'm pretty sure I wrote about already), as well as Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (which was an interesting spin off, and I'm disappointed that the U.S. doesn't seem to be getting the sequel, despite how many fans there are). And for other Pokémon games, there was Pokémon Rumble (which is cute and addictive and a new a game based on it was just announced to come out on the 3DS this year :D), Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs (which I did a big post about), and PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure (I haven't gotten it yet, but I'm dying to because the graphics look gorgeous for a console Pokémon game, and I heard the mini-games are really fun). And of course, I can't forget to mention the release of the 3DS, and the announcement of Wii U at Nintendo's E3 conference a few days ago. I want a 3DS sooooo badly, but I can't afford one right now, and I'm going to hold out a bit longer to see if a purple colored one is released. There was one shown at last year's E3, but Nintendo is notorious for making various colors for their systems that never see the light of day once they're officially launched. (I still remember the lime green Wii they showed a few years ago.) If I don't see a purple 3DS at some point, I'm going for the blue one. There are tons of titles I'm looking forward to getting for it, but I'm disappointed because development on those titles has caused the DS to be left with only one or two major titles left before Nintendo kills it off for good. :( And as far as Wii U goes, it's an interesting concept for sure, but I'm not looking forward to hearing how much it's going to cost us to get it. >_<

...Does that wrap everything up? I think so... OH WAIT! I can't not mention Patent Pending in this post! I've seen them at least 20+ times since the last time I did a proper post about them. And since then, their lineup of members has changed. For awhile, a guy named Josh filled in after Michael left, but then he left the band during 2010. He still helps out Joe during the lyric-writing process though, which he always has since like 2006. And Jay, who was their bass player since 2007 and one of my favorite members from the first time I saw them play, also left at the end of 2010, which made me really sad. :( However, the current lineup is amazing though, because 2 of the members from Pull the Pin, Rob and Corey, were adopted into Patent Pending, which makes so much sense and was by far the best decision ever because both bands were super good bros whenever they toured together, and they always referred to each other as being "hetero-lifemates." :) During these two transition periods, a couple other guys, Travis (formerly of Valet Parking, and recently left Giants at Large) and Joey (formerly of Score 24, now of Giants at Large), filled in. Also, Patent Pending has released 2 new music videos this year. I already posted about the first one for "One Less Heart to Break," but their second one for "Dance Till We Die" was just premiered on MTV.com yesterday!

Aaaaaaand, to top off this sundae of awesomeness, Patent Pending was on MTV's show Silent Library. Their episode was just posted online recently, so now everyone can watch it. :)

This video is a good example of the transition period because Jay and Travis are in this. And note: the Corey shown is not the same Corey that I mentioned above. This Corey is a friend of the band that has his own clothing line, Madvillain Clothing. Oh, and some of the ages listed aren't their real ones if you couldn't tell. Those boys just enjoy being silly. XP

NOW I think I've covered everything. This post has so many tags. XD; Now I'm off to keep myself amused until it's time for me to head off to tonight's Patent Pending show with my two friends~

See ya! ;)
