Psych: OMG!

I FINALLY DID IT! A REAL POST!

So I went through my most recent posts, and apparently I've been promising to write something real for a year...LITERALLY A YEAR. (I posted on June 9th, 2010, and it's June 11th, 2011 today. XD;) Needless to say, a real post has been WAY overdue.

Sooooo...what's changed from now since a year ago? Well, first of all is that I finished up my sophomore year of college. And compared to freshman year, this one was TONS better. My roommate is the shit (a much needed improvement in my life after my previous roommates last year), and my two suitemates are chill people. We're all dorming again this year, so that works. :) But my roommate might not be able to stay in our dorm after the fall semester due to money issues, so I'll be very sad about that if it happens. :(

I also managed to make a friend in one of my classes this year. "...one? Only ONE friend...?" you might ask? Well, I'm not the type of person who likes to have tons of casual friends. I like having a handful of close friends instead. Anyways, it kinda just happened by chance, but I'm glad it did. He's one of the nicest guys I've met in a long time, and I always had a blast whenever he and I hung out outside of class. :) Because of him, I finally got to do what I wanted to do when I skipped prom, which was staying up ridiculously late playing video games with a bunch of people. :P Until now, I've never had the chance to really experience multiplayer gaming at its best because it's always either been a)me and my brother (I dominate him, or he dominates me), or b)me and friends (where I whoop all their asses because they all only play games casually). So being in a room full of guys that take video games seriously was hilarious because of their reactions to winning or losing. The best reactions were definitely from Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl and Mario Kart: Double Dash though. "WHO THROWS RED SHELLS BACKWARDS?!" Hahahahaha. ♥ I'm seriously going to miss those nights this year, because as of now, my friend is pretty sure he's not going to be able to come back because he's also having money issues. And what sucks the most is that he lives in NY, so we can't even hang out or anything that easily. :'( I've been missing him like WOAH ever since school ended last month because we got pretty close and saw each other pretty much every day by the end of the school year. As of now, he and I are going to meet up at Six Flags at some point this summer (most likely in a couple weeks or so), so I've been really looking forward to that. :D But after that...I don't know how things are going to work out. And I really hate thinking about it. T_T

Now I'm going to dump the rest of what's been going on under LJ-cuts because this post is getting very long:

NOW I think I've covered everything. This post has so many tags. XD; Now I'm off to keep myself amused until it's time for me to head off to tonight's Patent Pending show with my two friends~

P.S. So...at this rate I'm never going to be able to catch up people with what's been going on since my last real post. But you all know that I'm constantly lurking on this site, commenting on your posts. And some of you see my ridiculous updates on Twitter, so you know that I'm very much alive. Maybe I'll finally make that post on Thanksgiving break (probably not) or Christmas break (more likely). Till then, stay awesome and be safe. ♥
Psych: Yayz!

The usual "I'm still alive!" post

Sooo...since I have some time to spare right now, why not update my LJ? Y/Y?

My last remaining guinea pig, Cameo, died early Saturday morning. I'd post up a picture of her like I did when her sister, Ginger, died in August, but I don't have any here with me on my laptop. So I'll edit this post when I get back home on Thursday (early weekend = YAY!). But wow. 6 years, 9 months. Almost the maximum lifespan of 7 years! I'd say she lived long and well, wouldn't you agree? :)

Anyways, I'm thinking about re-watching Rockman.EXE again one of these days. Not sure why, but I always seem to end up wanting to do this like once or twice a year. XD But knowing me, either it'll get put off and never happen, or I'll start to watch a few episodes, but then get sidetracked by other things and never finish. If I do, I probably won't bother watching anything beyond Axess (except maybe Beast since I have a few subbed episodes that I haven't watched yet). The original series and Axess are both so much love. ♥ Speaking of EXE, whatever happened to the EXE OSS game? I know it's been out in Japan for a few months, but I haven't seen any info about it coming to the U.S. I wonder if it will. I've been itching to replay the EXE games for the longest time (even though I haven't completed a single one of them after all these years), so playing the first game on DS would be nifty~ If anyone on my friends list *cough*rend_dxormizunosakura*cough* knows anything about that, let me know? The only EXE related sites I visit are Rockman AMV and Rockman.EXE Online. I really should just go to Protodude's Rockman Corner since it seems like most, if not all, Rockman fansites use him as a source. XD

Video games are awesome as usual. Since last time, I bought all of the games that I was planning on getting. I'm pretty much near the end of Pokémon SoulSilver (got my 16th badge yesterday, so I just have to fight Red, and then it's all just catching the rest of the Pokémon like I usually attempt to do), I'm still in case 4 of Ace Attorney Investigations (I play from time to time when I'm not focusing on homework or SoulSilver), and I'm very early on in Endless Ocean: Blue World (the part after the first dive where Oceana runs off).

I'm still way behind on TV shows. Psych, Burn Notice, The Office, and possibly others that I'm failing to remember at the moment. The only shows I've managed to keep up with are How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, and Lost. (And Pokémon DP if we're including animé here...but not really since #PocketMonsters is like 3-4 episodes behind on their subs, which annoys me to no end since they had been so good at staying on schedule with releases for quite awhile. I used to just watch the RAWs on Youtube when they came out, but I'd rather wait to fully understand an episode rather than to speculate on what's being said until the sub is out.) Lost has been pretty good lately, especially last week's episode, OMG. I will feel a little disappointed if the 7 remaining episodes aren't as awesome as that one. Poor Richard. My heart goes out to you, man.

Oh, and I found out tonight that my roommate watches Detective Conan. Well...technically last night because I noticed what was on her laptop screen when she left the room for a bit, but I asked her if what she was watching was in Japanese because I recognized the language, and obviously she said yes. So yeah, I thought mizunosakura would find that tidbit slightly interesting~ ;) Too bad it seems like she doesn't watch any other animé from the sound of things. Or maybe she does and I just don't know it yet. But I'm thinking she watches that because I get the feeling that she just likes to watch lots of dramas and stuff based on what her Chinese movies/shows sound like.

What else... OH! I went to another Patent Pending show on the 20th. But in this case, there was this big 2 year anniversary event thing that Beast Attire, a clothing company, had from the 19th to the 21st. So my friend and I saw 75+ bands play shows 3 days in a row. It was pretty cool. We got to see some other bands from previous shows that we like, such as Set Phasers to Stun and Valet Parking, and we got to hear a bunch of other good bands that we hadn't heard of before, like Lacerda and Score 24. And we got TONS of free stuff from bands handing out stuff to people to advertise. I'm pretty sure I ended up with at least 6-8 CDs by the end of that weekend. XD (I bought like 3-4 of those, but still. :P) Anyways, because so many people wanted Patent Pending to play a bunch of songs that they couldn't play during their set, Joe did an acoustic set in the hallway at the merch table. It was amazing. ♥ And a part of it should show up somewhere on the DVD they've been planning for god knows how long (the first time we heard about the DVD was May of last year, so... XD), which means this is like the 3rd time we've ended up on it. XD

But yeah, we also got to meet Duff Goldman, who you've all probably seen on Food Network's Ace of Cakes. His band, ...SoIHadTo..., played on the 21st. They were cool. It's not often that you come across a band that plays music without lyrics with that kind of sound. It reminded me of my dad's guitar sessions where he just plays songs without singing and uses a bunch of wah-wah pedals for different effects. And the percussionist used a chicken shake! I LOVE the chicken shake! :D But yeah, I got the band's CD (which you should be able to find online to purchase if you look up the band), and my friend got their poster (which also had a link for a digital download of the album) and had all of the band members sign it. If I weren't a sucker for physical CDs, I would've gotten the poster instead because it was the same price as the CD, and technically came with the same music as the CD. But whatever. :P We've got one of each thing, so I'm cool with that.

And FINALLY, I forgot to mention my other trip to NYC during spring break on the 18th. I went in to visit 2 art museums for my art classes. The Met was boring as usual, and the Museum of Arts and Design was awesome. :) The exhibit I had to go see there was really impressive! :D Afterward, I went to Nintendo World to buy more stuff. XD I got Ho-Oh and Lugia Pokédolls, a Mantyke figure, and I bought the issue of Nintendo Power that I missed getting in the mail because I waited too long to renew my subscription. It had HGSS for the cover story, so I OBVIOUSLY needed it. Because I bought all of this Pokémon stuff, the guy who rang me up gave me another nylon bag like the ones from the HGSS release day. :D I gave this bag to sinxcosxtanx along with the duplicate Altaria figure that I mentioned earlier. She works at a Gamestop, so she snagged the giant "Coming Soon" HGSS posters that they had in the store windows. She gave me the Ho-Oh one since she kept Lugia for herself, so I decided to give her something in return for the awesome poster. :)

...I spent WAY too much time on this update. But I think it covers just about everything I've wanted to say on here for over a month now though. XD I'LL ATTEMPT TO POST HERE MORE OFTEN AGAIN SO THAT THESE DON'T KEEP TURNING INTO JUMBO POSTS.

See ya! ;)

Psych: Yayz!

The obligatory Christmas post

I hope everyone had a good Christmas this year! :D I was expecting mine to be a little lackluster this year for some unknown reason, but it ended up being better than I thought. :)

As I usually do, here's the recap of the things I got as gifts:

Video Games

- Kirby Super Star Ultra
- The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
- The Legendary Starfy
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

DVDs

- UP!
- How I Met Your Mother (Season 4)
- Psych (Season 3)
- The Big Bang Theory (Season 2)
- Dodgeball

Other

- Money/checks/gift cards
- Food/candy
- 2 scratch-off lotto tickets
- A metal Slinky Jr.
- A Sudoku book
- An Aussie hair de-frizzer tube thing
- 2 balloon craft kits
- A 2010 calendar of The Office
- A second Shinx plushie (which you can view here)
- A New Super Mario Bros. t-shirt (which you can buy/view here)
- A poster of the U.S. with the liscense plates of all 50 states (which you can buy/view here)

Since there's some stories behind a couple of these gifts, I'll explain those here:

Shinx Plushie - So, awhile ago (probably a year or more by now I guess), I was at Toys R Us or Target (I forget which store) browsing through the Pokémon toys, and I found a Shinx plushie. I adore Shinx, and just HAD to buy it. It's so freaking cute. ♥ I must've just gotten REALLY lucky, because I've never seen that plushie for sale ever since then, and probably for 2 good reasons: 1)it's probably one of the most popular 4th gen Pokémon from what I've noticed online & 2)compared to a majority of the Pokémon plushies that Jakks Pacific have made, this one is very well made. Anyways, after I buy new Pokémon plushies, I normally put them on one of the shelves on my nightstand, but I ended up choosing to sit the little guy on top of my computer monitor, and it's been there ever since. When I started college, my parents took notice of the fact that the plushie looks like it's guarding my computer until I get home on the weekends. XD So apparently, they decided I should have another "protector" for my laptop in my dorm room. So now I'm the proud owner of 2 Shinx plushies. :)

Liscense Plate Poster - One time when my dad and I were out shopping, we stopped at Michael's (I don't remember why), and we were browsing through all of the posters they had like we normally end up doing whenever we've gone there. While looking, I stumbled upon this poster and thought it looked AWESOME. I called my dad over, and he thought it looked great too. I wanted to get it, but then we flipped it over and saw the price and knew that it was way too pricey for a poster, so we put it back. I think I've only mentioned that poster in a conversation once since we saw it, and I never expected to get it. So, needless to say, I was surprised when I unrolled the poster from the tube this morning. It's an extremely high quality print, and the paper is also high quality, so I'd say it's well worth the money. We're planning on hanging it up when I go back to my dorm in a few weeks.

See ya! ;)

Psych: Wall hide

Today's fandom-related stuff

So, for the first time in forever, I updated my interests on my profile. I cleaned out most of the garbage interests that didn't have anything to do with what I like these days, and I added in some new ones. I don't expect anyone here to care. I just felt like stating it. :P

Anyways, I've rewatched episodes for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya since season 2 started up finally. :D I only rewatched up to the point where the next new episode will air so that I can see all of the episodes in chronological order. But yeah, I'm looking forward to the new episodes. :) Maybe I should go hunt down episodes of The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya in the meantime since I never got to see any of those...

Besides watching TMoHS, I watched all 6 episodes of Parks and Recreation today. I enjoy it a lot, but I know there are so many haters out there just because they think it's too much of a ripoff of The Office, or they just don't find it funny at all. It got renewed for a second season, so I think I'll continue to watch it to see where it goes. :) I like it, and that's all that matters.

And Burn Notice season 3 starts TONIGHT! Wooooo~! \o/

See ya! ;)

RM.EXE: Netto

Slowly catching up on several months worth of TV

The itchy throat I had went away, so I'm guessing I'm not sick afterall. Woohoo!

I just finished catching up with 12 episodes of The Office. Tomorrow I shall start to work on catching up with How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory, which have 10 episodes each. I just haven't decided which show that I want to watch first.

Yup. My day was sooo eventful. XP

See ya! ;)

Comfy Slippers

Happy New Year! :D

I haven't been posting much due to an annoying virus that's been on my computer for a few weeks, but didn't get worse until a few days ago when I tried to get rid of it. My dad and I looked it up and found a few ways to get rid of it, but almost all of them have you delete your backup history. This isn't good since the computer could crash and then we wouldn't have a point that we could restore the computer to, so we'd have to rebuild everything from scratch. However, I copied all of the files I wanted to keep onto the external hard drive that we bought on Black Friday, so if something goes wrong, I probably won't lose much since it's plugged in through a USB port. But that's enough for now of that boring computer gibberish, ne?

Moving on, I beat the storyline in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia the other day. And I finished doing the extra stuff, such as the quests, the Capture Arena, and completing the browser, so now I've got nothing left to do except for waiting for 3 more extra missions to be released through WiFi. That probably won't happen until February though since the 3 missions that are downloadable right now will be gone after January 31st. However, since you can't get any Pokémon for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum by playing the last 3 missions, NoA or PUSA might just decide to not release those quests, so who knows.

Anyways, my family and I went to NYC on Tuesday, so I got some more goodies from my two favorite stores to shop at while we're there. At the NBC Store, I got a Psych snowglobe, a Psych keychain, and a Psych magnet. I almost bought one of the mugs they were selling for The Office, but I'm sure they'll still be there the next time we go, so I decided not to get one. I thought about getting the one with Andy on it, but the Stanley and Angela ones were pretty funny. There was also this hilarious shirt of Michael where he says, "I can't believe how BIG it is!" and on the back it said, "That's what she said." XD But there was only one left, and it was in XL, so if I had gotten it, I would've had to use it as a night shirt. I wouldn't have minded that, but there was a pinkish smudge near the right shoulder, so I figured it would be better to just get it another time in the right size and without any damages. But yeah, then at the Nintendo World Store, I got 4 new Pokémon figurines (Turtwig, Piplup, Luxray, and an updated version of Eevee which is significantly different from the original version), a Mudkip Pokédoll, a Red Pikmin plushie (leaf stage), a Mario Kart Wii t-shirt, and 2 packs of Super Mario Galaxy trading cards. I was planning on buying a cute little Yoshi plushie after seeing the super awesome pink Yoshi that Jen got a few months ago, but they didn't have the purple one, which made me sad. :( They had all of the other colors except for purple and orange, so I'm hoping that there might be one the next time I'm there.

Anyways, there's not much else for me to say. I still need to try out most of the Wii games I got for Christmas, I'm behind in AC:CF again (and I'll be forced to time travel for the New Years Eve/Day stuff), and I'm trying to do some Tweaking in order to get Shaymin. I'm only doing it in my Pearl version though since I don't want to risk messing up and losing all of my save data in Diamond. So far, I've managed to get 7 game freezes and 1 invisible wall, so I just need to keep trying and hopefully I'll get the black void eventually. If you've ever heard of the Surf glitch that's available in early copies of the Japanese versions of Diamond & Pearl, it's kinda like that, but many more steps are involved.

See ya! ;)
